Mitchell Alan Barrett, a seasoned professional with a rich tapestry of legal and financial expertise, serves as an Independent Member of the Board. His career is marked by a series of high-profile roles that demonstrate his breadth of knowledge and leadership abilities. As Director and CEO of Barrett D’ Avray (Pty) Ltd, Independent Director at Barak Fund Management, CFO at both Avenport Investments and Latitudes Consulting SA, CEO and Director at Turnstone Trust Group, Private Client Manager at Intercontinental Trust, Legal Manager at Inter-Ocean Management (which became Maitlands Mauritius), and Legal Clerk at David Gardyne & Partners, Mitchell has consistently proven his strategic and operational acumen.

Educated at the University of Natal, South Africa, with B Soc Sc and Bachelor of Laws  (LLB) degrees , Mitchell's quest for knowledge led him to further his education with an MBA from Surrey University, UK. His commitment to lifelong learning is evident in his attainment of an Advanced Diploma in Transfer Pricing from the International Institute for Tax and Finance, a Diploma in Corporate Governance from the Corporate Governance Institute (UK), a Diploma in International Trust and Wealth Management, and an Advanced Diploma in International Taxation from RAU. He is a Chartered Secretary accredited by the Corporate Governance Institute, UK.
 
His professional affiliations as a Member of the Mauritius Institute of Directors, a Trust and Estate Practitioner to STEP, and an Attorney to the High Courts of South Africa, underscore his deep commitment to professional standards and ethical practice.
